DEFENSE Rises to Challenge in 17 – 14 Win over Stanford                                ( 247 )

University will let Players reveal Results of Academic Investigation            ( )

I’m confused. has a very public press conference to announce investigation, but doesn’t plan to publicly announce the results?

Short of it: No actual news in that release, other than we’ll likely have to scour Instagram/Twitter for results when they come.

acknowledges difficulty of Honor Code process for students: “We are working to resolve these situations as quickly as possible.”

‘s win over Stanford moved the Irish up to No. 6 in the AP Poll while knocking the Cardinal to No. 25. FSU still No. 1; ASU at 20.

Notre Dame moves up to No. 5 in the Amway Coaches Poll. Irish also move up to No. 3 in scoring defense & No. 9 in rush defense

Kelly on the noise as Irish approach Top 5. “Pretty typical around here that there’s noise. A day in the life of Notre Dame football.”

This week’s cover:

“We’ve got an ankle here or there, but nothing of significance. Nothing even to the level of missed practice time.”Kelly‘s injury update

BK on Austin Collinsworth: We thought he played a lot freer. Ability to move and change direction was substantially different. He’s rounding into (pre-injury

BK noted that Cole Luke got the game ball with two picks and it was a “bounce back game” after Syracuse. “He’s really picked up his game.”

Brian Kelly says the flu bug that hit started with Golson on Thursday. 4-5 guys needed medication, but nobody effected seriously.

BK on game tape: Turnovers in critical areas was the main nit-pick: “We gave them seven points” adds that Golson INT had to be at least a FG

Kelly ran on so many second-and-longs because “exotic pressures” made third-and-seven or more a very undesirable position.

On sticking with the run: “Had some musts entering the game and one was to try to control field position. Had to keep 3rd down manageable.”

Kelly noted on heavy use of McDaniel: “Tend to rely on the senior captain, a proven guy that has been productive.” Knew what he’d get

“Everett wants to learn this game from a coach’s perspective.”Kelly on Golson‘s relationship w/ LaFleur. LaFleur has time for film study.

Bk on QB Coach Matt LaFleuer: Great for Golson because the QB is inquisitive about football. It was a missing ingredient in the program…

BK on Denbrock: Great to collaborate with. Has experience as line coach, tight ends, WRs, great perspective of the whole offense.

Kelly adds that Denbrock is in good health and great spirits. “He’s a great asset up in the box.” Adds Denbrock knows what Kelly wants.

Kelly: “We got a good group of guys that believe in each other. They don’t get down. they keep playing. There was no panic on our sideline.”

Kelly on defense: Most pleasing thing has been the defensive line. Didn’t use the word surprised, but really pleased against the run.

BK Said D was excellent, had them in 11 3rd-and-7s or more. Stanford had just eight on entire year entering game.

“I haven’t had any conversations. I got in here and got right to work on football.”Kelly‘s non-update update on the investigation.

Kelly said he probably won’t put together a plan to reintegrate the Frozen Five until there is an actual decision made re their status.

“I’ll probably have to spend some time today thinking about it.”Kelly on how to handle possible returning players from investigation

“Definitely progress to be made.” Kelly on the offensive line’s growth.

Kelly notes this week he will stress staying in the moment, work on preparation, and enjoy every win bc they’re so difficult.

I could see eventually landing commitments from Brandon Wimbush, Equanimeous St. Brown & Frank Buncom IV:

The are crushing it on the recruiting trail this weekend as top talent visited for Stanford game. Buzz here:

Made the best decision this past June to attend the University of Notre Dame! UNREAL atmosphere

: QB commit Brandon Wimbush calls visit “awesome.”

commit Mekhi Brown just completed his visit to . The Irish impressed him.

RT : Official visit to Notre Dame was crazy
