Hoiberg: It’s a learning opportunity. We’re are going to play back to back games like this, so we’re going to have to do better.

Hoiberg on this week: We have a big week here with finals. It’s a big week for our team.

Hoiberg on McKay becoming eligible on Dec. 20th: He’s one of those kids that will impact the game with his energy.

First-half stats:

Iowa State has been assessed a technical foul for dunking in warmpus. Southern will shoot two prior to the jump ball.

Worth noting that administrative technical foul was assessed on Iowa State with Big 12 director of officiating Curtis Shaw in the building.

Starters: ISU-Morris, Long, Dejean-Jones, Hogue, Niang. Southern – Hyder, Rodgers, Banks, Davis, Sam.

Jameel McKay will not have an instant impact for ISU. Limited offensive skills could actually hurt Cyclone spacing. More of a role player.

Reality is that the ISU players believe and buy in to and his system. When you play on concepts players are interchangeable.

– as you noted previously..the most impressive aspect of is and his Assist / Turnover #’s .5-1 yest

Sounds like Bryce Dejean-Jones and Abdel Nader will be moving to a new apartment sometime in the near future. Probably for the best.
